RPEng Australia refers to registered professional engineers in Australia. To be an engineer, you must have registered in the engineering  registration. RPEng was established by Association of Professional Engineers Australia. Registered Professional Engineer of Professionals Australia is the practical example of quality in engineering in Australia. By holding this title, You are a qualified and competent to practice and supervise as a professional engineer.

Qualification

You need to provide a certified copy of your Bachelor Degree in the engineering discipline.

CV, RESUME

To give the information about work experience, you need to prepare complete detailed CV it must include:

  • Name of organization
  • Job title
  • Summary of the services provided by organization or each employer.
  • Role you play within organization
  • Length of employment 
  • Example of the work activity in the organization. 

The CV must include organizational name, services or product provided by the organization, job title, role of the employee and many more information about your role in the organization. 

To meet requirements, applications must provide a record of 150 hours of completed CPD in the last three years. CPD can be completed in different ways and receives a different weighting. 

Engineers that hold RPEng status are of the highest level of contemporary practice.

To meet these requirements, applicants must provide a record of 150 hours of complete CPD over the  last three years. 150 hours contain different weighting as it sounds like a lot. 

Referees

For RPEng you are required to provide the contact details for a minimum of three professional referees. Referees are required to verify that the work you have listed in your CV is true and accurate.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

We need to make sure that engineers that hold RPEng status are of the highest standard of up to date practice. Related verified CPD is a main support of our scheme. For this candidates must provide a record of 150 hours of completed CPD over the last three years. 

The seven categories of CPD activities

  • Formal postgraduate Education

For the fulfillment of your document you need to provide a certified copy of your Bachelor Degree in the engineering discipline you are applying for registration. 

  • Employer provided Education

Education provided by your employer or by a provider that is not higher education provider, but that aligns to your work and profession.

  • Professional Participation

Participation at a conference or technical society meeting, no limit for hour.

  • Presentation

Showing at a gathering or meeting adjusted to your work and profession. For non-peer activities limited to 45 hour, peer for 75 hours.

  • Workplace Learning

Workplace learning involves theories, ideas and practices, that increase your knowledge. It is limited i:e 75 hours. 

  • Published Work

Creating a paper for a college, meeting, designing association related to the profession which includes research and preparation(limited 150 hours). 

  • Extension of your Knowledge

Categories and Weightings are:

  • Employer-provided training – 3 x weighting
  • Formal postgraduate education – 3 x weighting
  • Presentation participation – 1 x weighting
  • Professional participation – 1 x weighting
  • Published works – 10 x weighting
  • Private study – 1x weighting
  • Workplace learning – 0.5 x weighting
